Evidence-based dialogue for inclusive economic progress.
Forum for Policy Insight (FPI) Bangladesh is a national, independent, and non-partisan platform connecting research, policymakers, business, and stakeholders for rigorous, evidence-based policy dialogue.
A knowledge platform, not an advocacy body.
Forum for Policy Insight (FPI) Bangladesh is a national, independent, and non-partisan platform dedicated to connecting research, ideas, and stakeholders in support of evidence-based policy development and sustainable economic progress. Established to bridge the persistent gap between policymakers and the operational realities faced by businesses, financial institutions, and communities, FPI Bangladesh provides a structured space for informed dialogue, rigorous analysis, and practical recommendations.
Bangladesh's economic and financial landscape is evolving rapidly. Policy frameworks must keep pace with ground-level realities — from the opportunities created by new bilateral trade agreements to the challenges of industrial competitiveness, investment climate reform, and financial inclusion. FPI Bangladesh exists to ensure that this conversation is grounded in evidence, inclusive of diverse perspectives, and oriented toward actionable outcomes.
FPI Bangladesh is not an advocacy body. It is a knowledge platform — one that brings together the right people, the right research, and the right dialogue to inform decisions that matter.
What we are working toward.
To serve as a credible and inclusive national platform that connects research, ideas, and stakeholders to support informed decision-making, sound policy development, and sustainable economic and financial progress in Bangladesh.
To contribute to a transparent, inclusive, and resilient economic and financial system in Bangladesh where policies are informed by evidence, institutions are strengthened by dialogue, and all stakeholders actively participate in shaping national development.
Six principles that define our character.
They distinguish FPI Bangladesh from advocacy bodies and lobbying groups.
- 01
Independence and neutrality
FPI Bangladesh takes no partisan position. Its credibility rests on its freedom from political, commercial, and institutional bias.
- 02
Evidence-based analysis
All dialogue, publications, and recommendations are grounded in rigorous research and informed discussion, not opinion-driven advocacy.
- 03
Professional integrity
Members, officers, and associated individuals maintain high standards of competence, conduct, and public-interest orientation.
- 04
Inclusive participation
Both national and regional perspectives contribute to FPI Bangladesh's work, ensuring ground-level realities inform national dialogue.
- 05
Constructive engagement
FPI Bangladesh seeks to build bridges between stakeholders, not to amplify division or conflict.
- 06
Transparency in governance
Operations, finances, and decision-making processes are conducted with accountability and openness.
Six functional areas.
Each is designed to address a specific gap in Bangladesh's policy and economic landscape.
Policy Dialogue and Discussion
Forums, roundtables, seminars, and consultations on key economic, financial, and trade policy issues — bringing together policymakers, regulators, and industry for structured, evidence-based exchange.
Research and Knowledge Development
Policy briefs, research reports, surveys, and analytical studies that support informed decision-making and contribute to evidence-based policymaking across Bangladesh's economic and financial sectors.
International Trade and Investment Policy
Engagement with bilateral, regional, and multilateral trade frameworks affecting Bangladesh's development — including analysis of trade agreements, export competitiveness, and investment flows.
Problem Identification and Solution Facilitation
Structured dialogue among stakeholders to identify sectoral challenges and explore practical, balanced recommendations while maintaining institutional neutrality and confidentiality.
Capacity Building and Awareness
Training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to improve financial literacy, professional capacity, and public understanding of economic and policy matters.
Stakeholder Welfare and Sectoral Development
Initiatives that enhance service quality, professionalism, institutional trust, and long-term sustainability within Bangladesh's economic, financial, and trade sectors.
International Trade & Policy
Bangladesh stands at a pivotal moment in its engagement with the global economy. The country's graduation from Least Developed Country status in November 2026, the recently concluded Bangladesh–US Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART), and the deepening of bilateral relationships with major trading partners all demand a platform capable of providing rigorous, independent analysis of the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Built to think clearly and convene broadly.
Bangladesh has no shortage of industry associations, trade bodies, and advocacy groups. FPI Bangladesh is not designed to duplicate their work. What distinguishes FPI Bangladesh is its commitment to independence, its evidence-based methodology, and its role as a convener — bringing together parties who do not routinely sit in the same room and facilitating the kind of structured, rigorous dialogue that produces recommendations all sides can act on.
The most effective policy platforms are not those that lobby the loudest, but those that think the clearest. FPI Bangladesh is built to think clearly, speak credibly, and convene broadly.
- 01
Non-partisanship
FPI Bangladesh takes no political or commercial position. It does not advocate any company, industry group, or political party. This independence is the foundation of its credibility with government, business, and civil society alike.
- 02
Rigor
Every publication, policy brief, and dialogue that FPI Bangladesh facilitates is grounded in research. Recommendations are clearly distinguished from regulatory or legal directives. Quality assurance and approval processes govern all public communications.
- 03
Convening authority
FPI Bangladesh is designed to bring together the right people — policymakers and business leaders, domestic institutions and international partners, national experts and regional voices. Its value is not just in what it produces but in who it brings together to produce it.
